Plot #1. What's a Ghost Trainer to do?
Davis was in the Lavendar Tower, hunting Ghost-type Pokemon and pretty much minding his own business, when another trainer came out of nowhere and challenged him. Davis wasn't in the mood for a fight, so he declined. The trainer obviously wouldn't take no for an answer, and pulled out his Haunter.
Davis's only Pokemon was a Ghastly, so he knew he had no chance. He ran, but on the way out, he dropped his Sylph Scope. Without it, he couldn't control Ghastly!
Davis met Ring Master on the street, and the ex-circus performer helped him retrieve the Scope.
Plot #2. The Weedle Woods
Davis, Ring Master, and the newcomers Tommy, Maureen, Morpheus, and Merci decide to go into the woods near Lavendar to hunt Pokemon. They catch quite a few, and fight off a swarm of Beedrill through ingenuity. Here is where Davis caught the Weedle that has grown to be his primary Pokemon.
Plot #3. Lavendar... Gym?
Upon arriving back in Lavendar Town, the heroes discovered that there was a new official Gym being built there. However, Channellers from the Tower obviously opposed the building of this Gym, apparent from the fact that they kept attacking it to try and destroy it. The heroes were hired to defend the Gym. After a long fight, they beat the Channellers back and the Gym was built. Davis's Weedle reached Beedrill stage in a battle against Kosh, the Gym Leader. Merci defeated one of Kosh's junior trainers with her Jolteon.
Plot #4. Team Rocket, Blast Off for a Nuclear Flight.
Two members of Team Rocket, Sundance and Kid, were raiding the Safari Zone. The League, impressed with the heroes' defense of Lavendar Gym, hired them to stop the raids. On their way, the heroes met Kid and Jay and Merci were captured. However, by the use of Davis's psionic abilities, they were able to escape. They defeated Sundance and Kid in the Safari Zone, but the two Rockets escaped. Kid later made threats of harm to Merci to Davis.
Plot #5. The Mewtwo Project, Part 1
After defeating Sundance and Kid, the heroes returned to Fuscia City. They thought they deserved a much-needed rest, but there was no rest for them. Davis, Tommy, and Morpheus received a telepathic message from Sabrina. A monster was attacking Saffron!
The monster, according to Davis, was one of the ten Mewtypes. The Mewtype was extremely powerful, and, during the battle to chase it away, destroyed Davis's Ghastly! After the Mewtype used its deadly Psywave attack on the party, disabling both humans and Pokemon, it moved in for the kill. However, just then, Tommy's Evee got up, with eyes glowing.
