The Pokemon League

A Play-By-E-Mail RPG on OneList

http://www.onelist.com

So, what is the Pokemon League? The League is a play-by-E-mail RPG. Here, you can get info on the League, roleplaying in general (not a particular game other than the League, though), play-by-E-mail RPGs, and those involved in the League. Our President is Keith Davis, who's also a Ghost-specialist. Our vice-president is Merci, who's favorite Pokemon is a Jolteon.

About the League - Our Purpose, systems, and who to ask for help:

The League is a play-by-E-mail RPG. This means, literally, a roleplaying game played via E-mail instead of over the top of a table or across a chat room. There are, however, a few special rules involved in play-by-E-mail RPGs.

1. Since a conversation would take a week if players weren't able to post the actions and words of other players' characters, you are allowed to do so. Just don't make any changes to their character - it is, after all, theirs. If you have to wonder if a character would do or say something, check with the player first. For example, my character, Keith Davis, would not sic his Beedrill on a helpless kid, and I'd be sort of angry if you posted him doing so. Remember, asking never hurt anyone.

2. Don't be overprotective of your character. Sometimes, people will post a minor detail that's out of line. Don't jump down their throats. If you must correct them, do so politely. In private (a mail to them instead of the list) is also helpful.

Well, that's the rules having to do only with the fact that it's a play-by-E-mail (PBEM) RPG. We've got some other rules as well, but most of them are common sense - no blatent sexual stuff (when clothing begins to vanish, so do players), keep the violence (which is unavoidable given the style of the RP) to a sensible level... all organs stay INSIDE the body, thank you. I have a weak stomach. Finally, there IS a lower age limit. Due to the way this RP has gone, I prefer that all players be at least 13 years of age.

Now for systems. I've got my own system for determining the power of your Pokemon, and Merci keeps me in check with regard to my own. The power of your Pokemon will be based on the development of your character. If you have an interesting character, your Pokemon will be strong (though a Magikarp is a Magikarp). If I find your character bland, your Pokemon will be weak (though a Mewtwo is a Mewtwo). As for battles... the way they're run is your responsibility. I will decide catch attempts and League battles, but normal battles are your call. If you think your Weedle will beat your opponent's Kakuna, then it does. I will call you on huge problems, like Rattatas beating Mewtwos, but most of the time your decision will stand.

Now for some links:

1. I don't need to know any more, Keith! I want to join!

2. Members page. Who's here? Who are they? What Pokemon do they have?

3. What's the current plot? What's everybody up to?

4. What plots have been played? Who was involved?

5. What plot seeds have been placed? Can I use them to figure out what's going to happen next?

6. Who are the villains? I know there's got to be a bad guy somewhere.
